He set out to make a career of his passion for the words by first getting a degree in Journalism from the Southern Connecticut State University. He published his first magazine article in the Hartford Magazine before he had graduated with his journalism degree.

He ventured into the television business even before he had completed his college. A few months before graduation, Peter Lion took up a job with WTNH-TV as a part tome graphics operator. This television channel was an affiliate of the ABC network and was based out of New Haven. Peter Lion though, had no experience in this field grabbed this opportunity to gain an entry and to create a foothold in the news and television industry.

He learned the ropes quickly, understanding the technicalities of the workings of a television network and remained a part of the channel for over a period of two years.

He then moved to Boston and started working with WSBK as a Technical Director. He worked on several projects, his major one being the Boston Red Sox Baseball and Boston Bruins Hockey. However, his desire to be in television and his love for writing pulled him back to his home state as a part of a small television station start up.

He joined this team as a director and a technical director for the 10 PM news cast, which was to be the first in the state. He grabbed this opportunity of showcasing his talent and knowledge as in his stint in Boston he has had the opportunity of working with several accomplished directors. He used this understanding to build the show from scratch.

Peter Lion moved to Pittsburg and joined KADA –TV after completing two years in this start up. In his stint in this television network, he exploited the various facets of his talent and worked as a weather anchor, announcer, news producer, feature producer and director. It was during his stint at KADA-TV that Peter Lion found inspiration for his book titled ‘The American St. Nick”.

He then moved back to Connecticut and became a part of ESPN sports network. Still a part of ESPN, he is responsible for a number of their shows such as Sports Centre and the NFL Draft in his position in the organization as a Director. His main show however, remains, College Gameday.

He been a two time winner of the Emmy awards, although he has been nominated many times for his contribution in the television industry. He got his first Emmy for his work in Sports Centre and received his second Emmy for the show NFL countdown.

Apart from working, Peter Lion is presently working on his second book. He is also a part of a band that goes by the name of ‘Cheaper than Therapy” and is its lead singer and guitarist
